Ranger Super Duty – Built Ford Tested #2 | 600kg Mud vs Ranger Super Duty

During development, the Australian designed and engineered Ranger Super Duty was pushed to the limit in a series of robustness tests designed to mimic real-life scenarios. One of the dirtiest was the mud-packing test. Simulating an extreme build-up of mud on the vehicle, the test for Ranger Super Duty was Ford’s toughest ever. A critical test, mud can severely impact the performance and lifespan of critical components. Our Ford Australia engineers drove the Ranger Super Duty on a specially designed heavy-duty mud track Victoria, delivering a variety of terrain, including mud ruts, bog holes and open sections of thick mud. The team also tested extensively on real-world, enthusiast-level tracks known for their mud. Ranger Super Duty has been designed, developed and tested to thrive in extreme locations for those who need to rely on their truck when the going gets toughest. DISCLAIMER: Pre-production vehicle being driven by professional driver. Specifications, features, finishes and accessories may vary on production model. Exercise caution, drive responsibly, and adhere to local laws and regulation, prioritising safety and responsible off-road driving at all times. Prototype weighed before and after testing to determine weight of ‘packed mud’. Check the tyres, underbody, steering, suspension, exhaust system and radiator for damage or debris after driving in muddy environments and clean as needed. If you experience unusual vibration after driving in mud, slush, or similar conditions check the wheels for impacted materials. Remove the material as required.
