Chevrolet Silverado V8 Engine PRODUCTION - General Motors Factory


General Motors production V8 Engines in Bedford, Indiana aluminum die casting foundry to support the manufacture of drive unit castings for the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV and other current casting applications. The Gen V V8 engine includes the manufacturing of aluminum cylinder blocks, aluminum heads and crankshafts. The main variants produced are the 5.3L and 6.2L engines. These engines end up in the following vehicles: Sierra, Silverado, Yukon, Tahoe, Escalade and Camaro. The General Motors St. Catharines Propulsion Plant (Canada), Bedford (Indiana, USA) and Romulus (Michigan, USA) manufactures the V6 engine, V8 engine and the GF6 transmission. The HFV6 engine includes the manufacturing of aluminum cylinder blocks, aluminum heads and crankshafts. The main variant produced is the 3.6L engine.
