TNT launches Australia's first HYBRID truck FLEET TruckWorld
TNT Express Australia has become the first business in Australia to start operating a fleet of diesel-electric hybrid trucks as replacements for conventionally powered vehicles.
Vehicle fleet management specialist Total Motion has warned fleets not to be too hasty to add hybrid vehicles to their fleet in light of increasing fuel costs.
This warning comes after the completion of a recent detailed study that showed many Hybrids’ such as the Toyota Prius have a higher carbon footprint and lower fuel consumption than the more modern advanced diesel engines.
Managing Director Simon Hill says “Directors and those responsible for fleet decisions should be careful and ignore the marketing hype, if they don’t want to see costs increase”.
