The Consumer Electronics Show has always been one of the most anticipated new product showcases in the world. But nowadays the gadgets are getting bigger, as automakers like GM are getting involved. At this year's CES in Las Vegas there was no shortage of exciting automotive electronics news from the Chevrolet! The Bowtie brand made three announcements that signaled just how much our cars will become even more connected, personalized and integrated. Today's announcements included:
Performance Data Recorder For The 2015 Corvette Stingray - In an industry first, we offer a fully integrated Performance Data Recorder (PDR) for the 2015 Corvette Stingray enabling users to record and share high-definition video, with telemetry overlays, of their driving experiences whether they are driving down the Tail of the Dragon or lapping Road Atlanta.
Chevrolet AppShop - Taking infotainment personalization in our cars to a whole new level, Chevrolet AppShop will be available this summer on select 2015 models in the U.S. and Canada with MyLink technology, including the Corvette, Equinox, Impala, Malibu, Volt, Silverado and Silverado HD. AppShop will be accessible through an icon displayed on the available MyLink screen allowing owners to view all available apps, download them directly to the vehicle, then organize, update or delete them.
Accelerating to 4G LTE - Starting this summer, Chevrolet will have some of the fastest vehicles on the roads, and that has nothing to do with horsepower. Chevrolet drivers will be enjoying high-speed data - made possible by a new OnStar 4G LTE connection in the vehicle, running on AT&T¹s network, the nation¹s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network.
