Sortimo and Knapheide Team Up

Sortimo, a leader of in-vehicle racking and shelving equipment, today announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with The Knapheide Manufacturing Company, the nations premiere producer of steel service truck bodies and platform/stake style truck bodies, to incorporate Sortimo’s in-vehicle equipment, mainly their impressive line of bins and totes into Knapheide’s service bodies and utility vehicles.

“We approached the Knapheide Manufacturing Company with the concept of integrating our line of boxes and totes within their service bodies and utility vehicle compartments that would offer the end-user the ability to organize their tools and equipment, therefore increasing productivity and efficiency” said Dr. Mahendra Srivastava, President of Sortimo North America.

This is not a new concept for Knapheide. Knapheide has researched and worked with other vendors and manufacturers on this same concept, but until now, could not find a cost effective solution.

“With Sortimo’s impressive line of light-weight, versatile equipment, we were able to capitalize on the flexibility of their products and incorporate it into our product line with minimal engineering changes. It is an ideal match.” said Chris Weiss, Vice President, Engineering, The Knapheide Manufacturing Company.

Sortimo North America is a subsidiary of Sortimo International, Germany, and Europe’s leading manufacturer of in-vehicle equipment. Sortimo works closely with automotive industry and trades professionals to continuously improve and develop new product lines.

After 162 years of operation, The Knapheide Manufacturing Company has evolved into the nation's premier producer of steel service truck bodies and platform/stake style truck bodies.

The Knapheide Manufacturing Company introduced Sortimo’s equipment in their service bodies and utility vehicles at The Work Truck Show in St. Louis, Missouri, March 10-12, 2010.
