These shots are of a nice looking Reading Truck Body steel dump body with fold-down sides. I love the color so much better than the typical black. This dump is available in 8, 9 10 and 11' models to fit most any chassis 60" to 84" CA.The Reading Dump Body has a Heavy Duty Understructure including 7" 7-gauge formed channel long sills, Tough Steel Sides made of 12-gauge two-sided A-60 galvannelad steel outer wall, double wall construction, a Rugged Steel Floor made of two-piece 10 gauge hot rolled steel and 3" 45 degree corners to side walls which won't trap loose loads. Powder Coat Paint is used and available in red, charcoal (shown), black, and white and these bodies come with Reading's 3-year limited warranty. The truck shown also has the optional Tarp Cover.
That's all good stuff, and what I liked best was the combination of the "REV-Pac" (some call a backpack, I-Pack, L-Pack, etc.) mounted on the frame ahead of the dump body. I like it because it is just a great idea. The box holds a lot of stuff and there is typically very little storage on a dump. "REV" stands for "Reading Extra Volume." It is a full bed width compartment with two shelves and four swivel hooks and is made of two-sided zinc coated steel. It comes with the Reading powder coat finish, inside and out which offers a white high gloss, chip-resistant finish. You can see all the dimensions here: Dimensions. Adding the REV-Pac makes sense on a lot of bodies, but none more so than the dump body. It really looks like it belongs on there. I started selling dumps with this kind of option back in the early 90's with great success. It's easy to sell something that is so useful and it makes perfect sense to a customer. The most common application would be an 8' or 9' dump (depending on brand of chassis) on an 84" CA. It makes a sweet package that is easy to sell.
